My real estate career began this year when I decided to reenter the work force after staying home with my three children until they were of school age.  I graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a degree in Elementary Education in 1990 and taught fourth and fifth grade until I had children of my own. I was involved with product distribution and marketing for a marketing firm based in San Diego and was a sales representative for a line of children’s clothing for markets in Las Vegas and Phoenix. I have always had a passion for working with others and have realized my ambition for real estate through personal moves and building processes.  Throughout the last 15 years I have been involved in many transactions to build, buy and sell real estate. I have a desire to help people live more comfortable and fulfilling lives by selecting a home that meets individual as well as family needs. I pride myself in advocating with integrity for individual home buyers and sellers. I am pleased to be a part of the Kristen Malfer team which holds these same values and offers years of experience to our clients.

Choosing a Realtor is just as important as finding the perfect gem of a home.  Competent, hard-working, enthusiastic, ethical and organized are my personal traits which will help create a smooth and enjoyable real estate experience for my clients. 

I grew up in a family that has continuously been involved in investing in commercial and residential properties.  A graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business, emphasis in International Marketing and a Minor in Economics, coupled with a Paralegal Degree from Washburn University, my career began as Director of Operations of a chain of candy confection stores which sharpened my marketing skills.  Discovering the need to be more deeply involved within the community, I pursued the dream of owning my own business, and started BIAO Magazine, a charity-driven publication.  I am truly inspired by the many philanthropic organizations that work tirelessly to make this city such a great place to live.  My career path then led me full circle back to real estate, where I am dedicated to offering superior service as a licensed Realtor. 

Knowing the dynamics of the current real estate market, intricately learning my clients’ needs, and working hard for my clients are what I firmly believe to be the keys to a successful real estate experience.  Although I have been known to give a quick analysis of the stock market, my heart is in real estate and enriching lives with the perfect home.

I started my Real Estate career in 2007 after spending nearly 10 years in a sales and customer service driven career here in Overland Park. I pride myself on giving outstanding, personalized service and promise that I will work hard to help you sell your home and/or help you find the home of your dreams in the KC area. Although I grew up with a father who has been a builder and Real Estate investor for over 30 years, Real Estate wasn’t always my career of choice. After graduating from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS I began a career in the Hotel industry, first in Chicago then here in Overland Park, where I was able to refine my customer service skills.

When I am not selling Real Estate my hobbies include cooking, golf, snow skiing, and traveling. I most enjoy being a father to my young daughter, Kylie and a husband to, Amy, my wife of 4 years.

It is a great privilege to be a member of Kristen Malfer & Associates where I am one of the on-site agents in Highlands Creek and also focus on assisting buyers and the re-sale aspect of the business. I am licensed in both Kansas and Missouri.

After twenty years in the marketing and advertising business, the last 15 of which were focused on new homes marketing, I made the decision to become a licensed Realtor in 2005. My accumulated depth of knowledge about the area real estate market has been a great asset to me in helping clients buy and sell homes.

My greatest joy in this business is working personally with my clients, many of whom are close friends, in finding a perfect home or helping make the selling of their home a smooth and painless process!

In my capacity as Office Manager for Kristin Malfer & Associates I am focused on using every possible marketing effort to helps our clients in buying and selling homes.  I believe my marketing background is an asset to our team and I enjoy the variety of work I do – from designing ads and other marketing materials to updating websites and helping coordinate tours and open houses.

After 23 years in sales and sales management positions I left the corporate world and co-founded Romanelli homes in 2004. Working throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, our company purchased foreclosed single family homes, rehabbed and then resold them. In 2007, I obtained my real estate license in Kansas and Missouri and began as a realtor working with Banks and Asset Management Firms to list foreclosed homes. In 2010 I had the opportunity to join Kristin Malfer’s residential real estate team and took advantage of a wonderful and rare opportunity. Krisitn and my philosophy were uniquely matched to always offer our clients the utmost in professional service. It has been a real privilege for me to join her very highly successful team. My wife and I have two daughters, Heidi and Megan and we live in Overland Park.

I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Finance. I spent the first 9 years of my career in the fast paced Telecommunications industry before making the decision to stay home to raise my three wonderful children. When I re-entered the workforce I knew without a doubt that helping people in my community buy or sell their home is what I was passionate about. I fell in love with the Kansas City area after moving here over 15 years ago.
